Recently in the news, there have been a case of NTU student stabbing his professor. The professor was discussing a project with the student. He had his back turned when the student took out a knife and stabbed the professor in his back.
The profressor tried to protect himself but received more cuts on his hand. The student cut his own wrist and ran out of the room. He ran onto a glass roof, where witnesses saw him sitting there for a time. Some people tried to sooth him, but their words fell to deaf ears. Soon after, he fell to his death.
The victim, David Hartanto Widjaja was a bright student who came to Singapore four years ago on an Asean scholarship. However, he was not acting like himself recently. His grades were going down and he was having numerous problems for his project, which was due next month.
His friends claim that he was a genius and was humourous, but he was also a loner. He spent most of his time in his room playing Warcraft. Some people believe that this was the reason of his drop in grades.
I believe that computer games were not the main reason that caused this incident. If he knew how to manage his time, this would not have happened. He also need more social skills and not spend all his time on games. If he had the determination, he could have gotten the time to go out with his friends and do work. My point is, computer games is not the main problem in this incident.
